Andrea Gibson, DNP

Andrea Gibson is the interim dean and vice president for the Purdue Global School of Nursing and is a dedicated leader in accreditation, regulatory compliance, and clinical placement.

Previously as associate dean of operations, she successfully secured initial accreditation for the Associate of Science in Nursing program and continued accreditation for Purdue Global’s post-licensure nursing programs. Gibson leads operational efficiency initiatives for the 16-member Clinical Placement team, enhancing student support and program expertise. With a strategic focus on assessment and evaluation, Gibson has redesigned the use of key performance course and program measures to strengthen program outcomes and excellence in nursing education, in addition to guiding policy creation and revision. She joined Purdue Global in 2007 as a faculty member and quickly transitioned into administrative roles with the university. Prior to joining academia, she served as a charge nurse for more than 5 years.

Gibson earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Purdue University Global and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from Kaplan University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand View University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Management from Central College. Gibson also obtained the Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) designation.
