IT Certifications and Exams Approved for Transfer

Students can earn credit for prior learning from information technology certifications and examinations. Credentials must be current or have been completed within the past 5 years. Older certifications and examinations may qualify for open elective transfer credit.

Please note: Certification and examination credits outlined below reflect the most recent version of certifications reviewed, and may be updated periodically due to academic revision and curricular alignment. All credits are awarded on an individual student basis, and may differ based on the requirements of a student’s program or the date of the certification’s award.

How to Submit Your Credential for Evaluation

The Purdue Global Office of the Registrar must receive or obtain an official verification of a completed exam or certification in order to evaluate it for potential credit. Acceptable documentation includes authorized certifications, exam results, and badges that are submitted directly to the university from an approved issuer. Students may also use the Purdue Global IT Certification Verification form to provide the university with information to directly validate their credential, when other documentation is not available or sufficient. Students should contact their advisor for more information.
