Fulfilling a Community Need

According to the CDC, contact tracing is an effective tool in slowing the transmission of COVID-19 through the early identification, assessment, and isolation of individuals who may have been exposed to the disease. Contact tracers can be employed by public health agencies at the local, state, and federal levels. They call and gather information from those who may have been exposed to COVID-19 and communicate appropriate guidelines to help those affected and limit the spread.

Course Requirements

This is a college-level course offered by the Purdue Global School of Nursing and School of Health Sciences. A high school diploma or GED is required to take the course; by enrolling in the course, you are attesting to holding a HS diploma or equivalent.

You will complete four mini-quizzes throughout the course on which you must earn an 80% score; you have unlimited opportunities to pass the mini-quizzes. The course culminates in a final examination on which you must earn an 80% score; you have three opportunities to pass the final examination.

WHO- and CDC-Aligned Course

Our COVID-19 contact tracing course uses WHO content for the most current and widely accepted information about the disease. It also covers all seven CDC-recommended training objectives to communicate the accurate, ethical, and legal principles of this public health intervention.
